Alfacinhas or little lettuces is a familiar name given to the residents of Lisbon.
This term was popularized by Almeida Garrett in his book Viagens na Minha Terra, in which he refers, at a certain point,
Hence you will be alfacinhas forever, caring that all the squares of the world are like that of Terreiro do Paço.
The author ended up not explaining the reason for this name, so the truth is that this food gave its name to the residents of Lisbon and nobody knows why.
On a weekend well spent in the magnificent Portuguese capital, I had the opportunity to capture its residents through my lens, always from an interesting perspective and, above all, with a balanced composition.
